This week marked the debut of the first-ever full-colour utility pole advertisement in Fukuoka, Japan, utilising the service known as "XPAND AdMesh," which connects outdoor ads with smartphones.
In Japan, utility pole advertisements, like street signs, are considered public materials, thus requiring local government permission for posting, and are subject to strict regulations concerning the number of colours and expressions used.
Fukuoka, known for its progressive spirit, allows for greater creative freedom, broadening the scope of expressions in advertisements. The area already features large billboards compatible with AdMesh, enabling advertisers to create immersive campaigns that encompass targeted regions via smartphones.

All advertisements are dual compatible with QR codes and XPAND Codes, ensuring they can be easily scanned from smartphones. When visiting Japan, particularly Fukuoka, experiencing these innovative ads is highly recommended.
