XPAND Code Gratis has become a considerably more useful tool, with adverts removed and a reader app launch function added. Do give it a try!
The two main changes are as follows:
1. Elimination of the Display of Advertisements
Previously, Gratis was designed to display an advert once after a user had scanned an XPAND Code, before transitioning to the content.
However, as this reduced usability, we trialled running the service without adverts — and it was very well received.
We have now removed adverts entirely, as with the paid version.
This has improved the speed of the experience from scanning to displaying content.
The scanning experience is now more comfortable than with QR codes.
2. Addition of QR Code to XPAND Code for XPAND Code Reader Launching
With this update, a QR code for launching the XPAND Code Reader has been added to XPAND Code Gratis.
You can now launch the app on the spot, even if you do not have it installed.
We have also applied the same change to the paid combined version, “XPAND Code Q”, with effect from today.
In the paid version, you can still generate XPAND Code without the QR code, as before.
