XPAND Code is being used at the venue of the Japan Table Tennis League, which opened today.
XPAND Code has been placed on all 12 courts, linking to live match updates for each court.
This initiative was made possible with the generous support of table tennis equipment manufacturer Nittaku.
As the event is being held without spectators, only players and team staff can experience XPAND Code in person at the venue. However, as all matches are being livestreamed on Labo Live, you can scan the XPAND Code appearing on screen and jump through to the live score page.
For now, we're linking only to the league's official website — an exploratory first step — but we hope to continue finding ways to make table tennis even more exciting going forward.
Here's what the venue looks like.
