The Japan Tourism Agency has announced a call for applications for its "Subsidy for Inbound Tourism Base Development and Acceleration Projects (Tourist Hub Information and Exchange Facilities)".

Under this scheme, it appears that up to one-third of the costs associated with multilingual upgrades to facilities may be subsidised.
The application deadline is 16 December, which is rather tight, but if you are interested, it may be worth applying.
